THE WAIRARAPA REP. TEAM.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Would you be good enough to express an opinion as to whether I have the necessary qualification to get into the Wairarapa representative team. I am 75 years of age, and once—l think it was during the Crimean War—l kicked a goal for my side, which should ensure my selection. I am at present playing first five-eighths for the Carter’s Home. Old Boys’ fifthgrade team, but I quite realise that only death can render possible a vacancy as first five-eighths for Wairarapa. But Cooke, by bis brilliance, is making one or. two of the Wairarapa backs look like hacks, and it is time he was dropped. Once I get in the team I know it will bo impossible for me to get out, and in another 35 years I should be well qualified to play first five-eighths. But, later on, I hope to finish my career as selector.—l remain, Yours dodderingly, BENNY OSLER’S GREAT GRANDFATHER.
