"V-OTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred on it by ‘ ‘ The Counties Act, 1920,” and “The Rating Act, 1925,” and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, the Masterton County Council intends, at an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, Chapel Street, Masterton, on TUESDAY, the ■ 10th day of JULY, 1928, to make and levy the following Rates for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1928, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1929. GENERAL RATES.' A GENERAL RATE under Section 120 of “The Counties Act, 1920,” on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable Property appearing in the Valuation Rolls of the SIX respective Ridings of the County as follows: — IN THE OPAKI RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY AND ONEEIGHTH OP ONE PENNY (1 l-8d) in the pound sterling. IN THE RANGITUMAU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY (Id) in the pound Sterling. IN THE UPPER TAUERU RIDING, a General Rate of ONE PENNY & ONE-SIXTEENTH OP A PENNY (1 i-16d) in the pound sterling. IN THE TE WHITI RIDING, a General Rate of THIRTEEN-SIX-TEENTHS OP ONE PENNY (13-16 d) in the pound sterling. A RATE under the provisions of Section 52 of ' ‘ The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” of THREE-SIXTEENTHS OF ONE PENNY (3-16 d) in the pound sterling on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable Property in the County of Masterton, such Rate ‘being required to meet the Contributions payable by the Council to the Wairarapa Hospital Board. SEPARATE RATES. ALSO, under the provisions of "The Water Supply Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto, to majce and levy Separate Rates for the maintenance of Water Races within the respective Water Race Districts as follows: — A SEPARATE RATE of TWOTHIRDS OP ONE PENNY (2-3 d) in the pound sterling on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable Property within the OPAKI WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. A SEPARATE RATE of ONE-THIRD OF ONE PENNY (l-3d) in the pound sterling on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable Property within the UPPER PLAIN WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. ■ A SEPARATE RATE of NINETEEN THIRTY-SECONDS OF ONE PENNY (19-32 d) in the pound sterling on the Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable Property within the TE ORE ORE WATER SUPPLY SEPARATE RATING DISTRICT. SPECIAL RATES.

ALSO under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Act, 1926,” to collect so much as is required of each of the ANNUAL RECURRING SPECIAL RATES levied on the 'Capital Rateable Value of all Rateable Property within the several Special Rating Districts of the County of Masterton, to provide for the Annual Charges on the Loans raised in the Said Districts.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY further given that all such Rates will become payable in one sum at the 'County Office, Chapel Street, Masterton, on the 24th day of July, 1928.
