DAATCS CUP. THE CHINESE TEAM. NEAV YORK, Wednesday. No one is more responsible for the high standard that Lum has attained than Patterson. Lum has Patterson’s form and manner of stroke production. He delivers his service with the same body motion, and his forehand and backhand are like Patterson’s, although Lum has better control over the latter shot, including a backhand slice. The conviction is that he is going to make it interesting for his opponents here, who are likely to be Tilden and Hennessy. —Australian and N.Z. Press Association. HARD COURT TOURNEY. PARIS, Tuesday.
