ELECTION RESULTS.
The return of 'Mr T. Jordan as Mayor by a majority of over 0-00 is a substantial enough vote of confidence to 'Satisfy any candidate for municipal honours. By their verdict the ratepayers and burgesses have approved of Mr Jordan’s work, and it must be said that the excellent manner in which he carried out his duties in connection with the recent royal visit played a large part in his victory yesterday. Jordan is to he congratulated on his return as Mayor by a majority that leaves no question as to the will of the voters: Mr Rippon put. up a good fight * gainst a strong opponent, and the result should not discourage him. He Pag done good work in the past, and local institutions in the borough are in need of members who will give intelligent and energetic application to the duties connected therewith. The Borough Council election result will not create much surprise. The increased majority in favour of the Saturday half-holiday was generally anticipated.
