Bebe Daniels appears in “The Palm Beach Girl,” commencing to-night at 7.4 d. Putting her head out of the train to watch the arrival into Palm Beach, she becomes smothered in soot, so that her Aunts Jerry and Beatrice fail to recognise Her when she arrives. Jack Trotter, a wealthy young man whose fortune is invested in the coming speed boat race, is persuaded to help Emily. She is to christen the boat, but again makes mistakes. Later slic is chased by the sheriff, who thinks that she has assisted some bootleggers to escape. She disappears in a boat which becomes beached. She stays there, and the next morning her Aunt Beatrice and Julia arrive in search of her. Jack tells them she has gone to the other aunt, who has mumps. They decide to go also. To cover his lie, Jack and Emily take the speed boat to Aunt Jerry’s, and arc there when the others arrive. However, the house is quarantined, and finally Emily manages to get away, and starts out for the scene of the boat race. The others follow by plane. The mechanic is lost overboard, and Emily manages to keep the boat in the race, and, haying won it, cannot stop the boat. The finish provides a real thrill.
