UNSATISFACTORY CONDUCT.

BY MAN ON PROBATION. ECHO OF BAUME CASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.), WANGANUI, Jan. 24. '■ William Smith was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day with drunkenness and a breach of his probationary license. The probation officer said that the conduct of accused had .been anything but satisfactory since ho came to Wanganui, One of the terms of his probation order was to keep away from liquor. Senior-Sergeant Lopdell said 'accused was mixed up in the Baume case a£ Wellington and was liberated by the Prisons Board in August last. He had been serving a sentence of 12 months and a reduction had been made on this. At this stage accused .suffered a severe epileptic fit and had to be removed from the court. Tho case was adjourned indefinitely so that he could receive medical treatment.
