ALLEGED ASSAULT.
WATERSIDERS ’ QUARREL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. As the- result of a dispute between two watersiders at 8 o’clock this morning, George Cargill was s'ent to the hospital, and Joseph Andre was imprisoned; and will appear at the Magistrate’s Court to-morrow on a charge of assault. They quarrelled last night, but turned up as usual to seek work. Andre, who is a-negro, was chipping ■a piece of wood with a penknife in the pursuit of his hobby of making small wood boats for insertion in bottles. Cnr■4d' gill, a v)H known footballer, went into "the sheet and a scuffle began. When they were separated Cargill had a two-inch wound in his hip.
