The Bucki'oso by-election resulted: — Mr Bniithvvaitc (Con.) 12,089 Sir Harry Vernov (Lib.) 10,537 Mr Laycock (Lab.) 2,191 The by-election was due to the resignation of the (Conservative member, Sir Guy Gaunt. —Aus. and X.Z. Cable Assn. (At the General Election in 1924, Sir Guy Gaunt (Con.) polled 13,966 votes, and Mr 11. A. Briggs (full.) 10,962. The electorate is in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and is :i farming constituency with 17,087 male and 12,957 female voters. Sir Guy Gaunt has been absent from England for over 12 months, and, according to the cable service, there was a deal of mystery regarding his disappearance, as for some time nobody knew where he was.)
