Wairarapa Daily Times ESTABLISHED OVER 50 YEARS. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1926. PROPOSED WELLINGTON EXHIBITION.
It is proposed to hold an exhibition ia Wellington in about five years' time, and. as befits the Umpire City, it is to be hoped that it will lie something that New Zealand w,ill lie proud of. The Dunedin Exhibition is all very well in its way, but it is far from giving one a true idea of what New Zealand is capable of producing. In connection with the Wellington project, it is to be hoped that Waiinrapn will insist on seeing that if has a court that will do this 'important district full credit. We do not want a repetition of the Dunedin fiasco. We should see that any money which the Wairarana contributes is spent on making our court one that will attract the attention of visitors from till parts. As those local bodies wiio voted money for the Waira-
riipa Court at the Dunedin Exhibition stand condemned for having wasted ratepayers’ money, they will doubtless hesitate another time in voting money for a Wairavajia court. Consequently, it will lie upon the public that will fall the duty of subscribing money to make our court worthy of us, and we feel sure that the response will be such that the Dunedin farce will not be repented at the proposed Wellington exhibition.
