CARTERTON —MONDAY. MONTHLY SITTING. (Special to “.Daily Times.”) The monthly sitting of the Carterton Magistrate 's Court was held yesterday, before. Mr S. L. P. Free, SX .Judgment by default was entered in the following debt eases: — W.F.0.A., Ltd., v. W. Dighton, claim £l, costs Ms; A. 11. lvrahagen v. Fred Waiters, £1 16s 1)6, costs 12s; George .McKenzie v. S. Hank?, £M 4s, costs £1 Ms Cd; Public. Trustee in estate of Henry Archer Bunny v. James Goodwin, £lO, costs MO:-.; L. IT. Smart v. 11. W. Marr, £8 15s sd, costs Mils (id; Carterton Borough Council v. vßehaia lhaia, £5 6s Md, costs £1 15s (id. On .judgmer.lt summonses, Dan Quinlan was ordered to pay J. C. Irwin a debt of £4 17s (id forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment- in Wellington prison. Percy Nieholls was ordered to pay W. C. Heller £8 17s 6d, at the rate of £1 per month, in default 1.0 days in Wellington prison. No orders were m'ade in the following discs:—.l. P. Le- Sour v. J. D. Donovan, £l7 IDs; J. W. Whitmore v. J. Donovan, £4M 16s .‘id; Mason, Stru.thers and Co. v. .T. Goodwin, £25 ss. In (the, adjourned cases, Inspector of Noxious Weeds v. G. Price, W. Udy, 11. F. Skey and 11. D. Petersen, the inspector stated that since the adjournment, 'Udy and Petersen, had cleared their property to the .satisfaction of the Department. Price had done nothing, ‘aiwl Skey had done .a- little towards the work. Each was convicted, Udy and Petersen being lined £1 and costs, Price was fined £lO and costs, and Skey £7 and costs. Three youths, Allen Broome, Albert Hayes and Thom Birehell, pleaded guilty to throwing stones dangerous to She public at Belvedere on a. recent Saturday evening. Each was convicted and fined 10s, with costs 11s, in two cases, and costs 13s in Hayes’ case. John Stewart, for assaulting Frank Shaw by striking him, was convicted and fined 10s and costs. David Murray was charged with failing to clem- his property of rabbits. A plea of not. guilty was entered, and after heaving the evidence, defendant was convicted and lined £5 and costs 12s. Anthony John Shierny, a second offeudel’ for drunkenness, was convicted and lined £l. Mrs. M. Collie, for allowing a cow to wander, was lined 10s and 7s costs.
