COSY THEATRE. . “LOCKED DOORS,” WITH BETTY COAIPSON. A husband, a wife, and a friend of tlie -family are the main characters in the picture entitled “Locked Doors,” which is the main attraction at the Cosy to-night. Tlie story deals -with a young woman who is married to a man much older than herself, and of the wife’s struggles against tin- all vent of another love in lrer life. The part of the wife is taken by Aliss Betty Comp- . son, who, as Alary Carter, leaves for Ja summer camp in the mountains. There she accidentally meets John Talbot, a young man who is engaged on a fishing expedition, and immediately falls in ■love -with him. Too late -she realises her mistake, and informs John that she is married. They leave, but later meet in the city, and Alary receives a surprise when she learns that John has been engaged to fill a position in her husband’s -office. John is invited to his employer’s homo for a few days, and there meets Mary. They realise, the -hopelessness of their position, and are saving “good-bye” in Alary’s room when the house catches lire. They are afraid to go out, and remain in tlie burning building till tlie husband forces the door and rescues them. The programme ill eludes a travelogue, an Australian Government film, and a comedy, “Pie-Eved.” Box plan at Henderson’s.
. OPERA HOUSE. “SALLY” WITH COLLEEN MOORE. Those who enjoyed the stage version of Zeigfcld’s noted musical success, “Sally,” -in which Josie Alelville leapt to fame overnight, will find added joy in First National’s screen version of the same piece, starring Colleen Aloorc, which comes to the Opera House next Wednesday. Colleen Aloorc brings to the role of “Sally” a genius for sympathetic interpretation that unquestionably will make this role an outstanding hit of her long list of successes. “Sally” calls for much human interest, pathos, lire of temperament and delightful sentiment. The major incidents of “Sally’s” obscure origin, her struggle up tlie ladder of life and love and fame are all there. Be sure to see it. Book at Henderson’s. Prices, 2s, Is 6d and Is.
