WEDDING.

PEARCE—LOWES. A,t St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, yestei day, Miss Jean Lowes, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Lowes, “Wairangi,” Eketahuna, was married to Mr. Frank Kenneth Pearce, of Wanganui. The Rev. 0. Gibson officiated. Friends of the bride had decorated the church very prettily, with white Uowers and greenery at the chancel and palm leaves and other greenery at the sides. Entering the church with her father, the bride was attired in an exquisite gown of ivory chiffon velvet, with a low waist-line of gold flowers and brilliants and a fish-tail train forming at the side. Her beautiful Limerick, lace veil, lent by Mrs. Alan Marshall, was held by a coronet of pearls and briliants, and a lovely shower bouquet of orenids and maidenhair fern completed a very dainty ensemble.

The only bridesmaid, Miss Peggy Lowes, looked wharming in a powder blue tissue frock, with an overdress of accordeon pleated georgette, edged with marabout. Her bouquet, held by a coronet of gold leaves, was of pink and blue flowers. Mr. Alan Pearce (Waikato) was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held by the bride’s parents at the Hotel Midland, where the dining-room had been artistically decorated, the tables bearing bowls of chrysanthemums, purple heather and autumn leaves. Mrs. Lowes received her guests arid wore a black and white coat frock, with black felt hat. Mrs Gilbert Pearce the bridegroom’s mother, wore a gown of black georgette and embossed vel vet, with a black hat. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pearce left by car, the bride travelling in a coat and skirt of cinnamon brown, with hat to match, and fur coat.
