THRILLING RESCUES.
AT YACHTING ACCIDENT. NEW YORK, Tuesday. B. P. ("Duke”) Kahanamoku, the Hawaiian swimmer, figured prominently in the rescue of a fishing party at Newport. The yacht Thelma, with seventeen persons aboard, capsized, and Kahanamoku made six trips with a surf-board to the sinking craft, bringing one ashore each trip. He assisted others in rescuing another six, and then located the bodies of five who were drowned. —Sun.
