THE BLUE PENCIL HAS WANDERED!

The manager's little mark-down crayon has had a busy time at lingo and Shearer’s during the. last few days. Sale-marking down lias begun. The blow has fallen —even “ 11. & S. ” low prices have met their Waterloo —they also have fallen. One can readily understand this firm’s idea in making such a sweeping clearance —a shilling in cash in the til! is worth two in stock on the shelves. Heavy buying on the Continent of the most advanced fashion goods, calls for a large turnover. And so the sale is inaugurated and the public profits.
