SOLWAY COLLEGE.
MOTION OF APPRECIATION. The following motion of appreciation ts-ras carried unanimously at a meeting «jf~the Board of Governors of Solway r'ollege yesterday: — ■"The Board of Governors of Solway ■-'College, in accepting the resignation of dMr W. J. Tennent as secretary, desires to place on record their high appreciation of the faithful manner in which he discharged his duties. They rewilise" that Mr Tennent had the truest interest of the College at heart, and most unsparingly of his time and HUKty. The Board were always confident that while he was in office the interests of the College were perfectly rafe. Every member of the Board was -sorry to lose his services, but most of sail to lose Mr Tennent himself. His ■devotion to duty, his genuine straightforwardness, his integrity of character, -and his humble tactfulness endeared jtam to all. The members will . follow him to : hiS hew home in Dunedin with deepest interest, and will earnestly . ,oray that he may have health and happiness in the eventide.”
