CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
The decision reached yesterday hy the Masterton Chamber of Commerce to ■ask the Farmers’ Union, A. and P. Association, and the Dairy Farmers’ Union to nominate a member each to the Council of the Chamber, will commend itself to the business people of Masterton, particularly in view of the fact that town and country arc now working together more than was formerly the case. There are many matters engaging the attention of the Chamber upon which farmers are especially qualified to speak. Dairy produce control supplies one instance. Furthermore, the interests of town and country are so interwoven that it is .really necessary that a Chamber of Commerce should consist of both business men and farmers, for their mutual benefit. The advent of three farmers upon the Council of the Chamber of Commerce should add to the usefulness of that body to a marked degree.
