The keenest competition was for Southdowns, which sold at from HOgns to igns. A very big entry of Corricdalcs also sold very freely, the top price being! lvgns. Halflbreds made to 17igns, Hhropshires to llgns, Romneys to Signs, Border .Leicesters to llgns, liyelands to 7 gns, and English Leicesters to 1 llgns. There was a penning of 3154 of the lastmentioned breed, and they met with practically a. complete clearance. Altogether it was one of the best fairs in regard to prices held for many years, the only breed to meet with a dragging demand being Merinos, of which the entry was much larger than usual. Di any case, breeders of Merinos do not stock up from the fairs.
