FERRY TICKET CASE.
SHORE COMMITTED.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wedn es d ay.
In the Eastbourne ferry ticket case, evidence was given that the accused Shore had received a portion of money from the sale of bogus tickets. The detectives said that after they approached Shore at Palmerston North and said that they had a search warrant to see if any tickets were in the house, Shore pulled from his pockets some tickets, but said that they were no use.
Witty, formerly manager of the Eastbourne Ferry Company, and now of Christchurch, gave evidence that Shore was in charge of the ticket department of the company. Several other witnesses were called, after which accused was committed for trial and released, on bail of £2OO, a condition being that he reported weekly to the police.
