BAND CONTEST.

SOUTH ISLAND COMPETITION. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Twenty-two bands have entered for the South Island Band Contest as follows: — “A” Test—Woolston, St. Kilda, Invercargill, Hibernian, First Canterbury Rifles (Ashburton), Invercargill Battalion, City of Sydney (formerly Kedfern Municipal), Municipal Silver (Runanga), South Canerbury BattV lion (Timaru), Queen Alexandra’s Own (Wanganui), Port Nicholson Silver (Wellington), and Wellington Tramways.

“B” Test—Third Artillery (Dunedin), New Brighton Municipal, Greymouth Municipal, Christchurch Tramways, Nelson Garrison, Oamaru Municipal, Kaiapoi Brass, Dunedin City Tramways, Hastings Citizens’, Fifth Mounted Rifles (Oamaru), and First Battalion (Wellington). The whole of these bands also entered for the quickstep competition.
