OPERA HOUSE. Suppose you valued your reputation but in order to get a good job had to masquerade as a notorious cabaret dancer. What would you do? This was the situation Mary McGuire found herself in and how she met thesituation is worked out in “The Delicious Little Devil” which is now playing at the Opera House. Mae Murray plays the stellar role and does unusually fine work. She is supported by an excellent cast, including Rodolph Valentino. Don’t fail to see this picture to-night.
COSY THEATRE. Betty Balfour, the charming little English star, is cast in the leading role in “Bquibs Wins the Calcutta Sweep” at the Cosy de Luxe. She is seen as a London flower girl whose dull, unehequered life is suddenly brightened by her winning £OO,OOO in the Calcutta Sweep. Squibs in her new country home provokes laughter by her awkwardness. She falls over mats, slips on the polished floor and flops into the bath. Behind it all, however, is the tragedy of the flower girl who has known the life of the London streets.
