SEX CRIMES.

THEFT OF MOTOR CARS. AN AMENDING BILL. i (Received Friday, 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Crimes Amendment Bill, to be tabled shortly by Mr Bavin, provides greater powers to deal with sex crimes and the unlawful use of motor cars and other vehicles, which at present are fair game for joy riders. Several proscutions against persons charged with clearing off with and abandoning them, failed because the Crown was unable to prove the intention of stealing. The Bill also provides that in certain cases a wife and husband can be compelled to give evidence against each other.—Press Assn.
