IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
HISTORIC IMPORTANCE. AN ITALIAN OPINION. Aa&ociatfiou —Electric xuitiifrapii Uopjrig. .(Received Friday, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday. 'The Morning Post’s Borne corresroondent says that the newspaper Gior.joale d’ltalia, in an article, headed, “The British League of Nations/' re--counts in its own fashion, the history ..of .the development of the Imperial • union during and since the war. It declares that there was a tune "when British Conservatives feared ■-that Britain would become a prisoner •of her dominions, who, after the peace treaty had proved a failure, were about .to make their power felt in London, .and were only restrained by Mr. Lloyd Ueorge ’s demagogic v cleverness. The Giornale d'ltalia is persuaded •That something material will emerge ,:from the conference, and is of opinion : that the Dominions will reach an agree- . snent among themselves in a deeper . sense than with Britain. This would be ..of historic importance. The world is :aow confronted with a mass of two Jhundred million people, who raise their ■voice while unfolding the banner of St •Ueorge.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
