METHODIST ORPHANAGE.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Methodist Orphanage Committee was held last night, -when there' were present:—Mr 0. N. C. Pragn’ell (in the chair), Dr. Prior, Mr A. H. Daniell, Mr F. E. Wells, Rev. B. P. Rothwell, Mrs Cocker, Mrs Rothwell and Sister May. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Jas. Elliott, Mrs Pragnell, Miss Burton and Mr C. E. Daniell. The balance-sheet showed a deficit on the ordinary income for the month, but the bequest of the late Mrs Mary Smith of £2OO had been paid over by Messrs Pragnell and McKenzie, and this had been of considerable help just when needed. The hope was expressed that friends, when making their wills, would remember the Home, or, better still, make presents to the Home while the givers were alive to see the good done by their gifts. Dr. Prior reported that the health of the children had been good during the winter.
Friends hafl helped during the month by knitting for the children. Accounts amounting /to £4l were passed for payment.
