p* ANNUAL SPORTS. The annual sports meeting of the Albion Athletic Club was held yesterday . afternoon, and was a decided success :from every point of view. There was a , good attendance of the public, and the events were got off well to time. The events generally provided exciting fin- ' ishes. The meeting was excellently managed, thanks to the efforts of the capable secretary (Mr C. W. Lovell) and the energetic officials. The results were as folow: — 100yds Handicap. —First heat: J. High Jump.—J. A. Roberts 1, W. H. Roberts and B. Roberts 2. The winner jumped sft 2in. 220yds Sub-Centre Championship.—L. A. Tracy 1. Time, 22 l-ssees. R. Gully was the only other starter; he overbalanced at the start and did not take part An the race. As Tracy is not. eligible to •take the championship, the title is held ■ over without a holder.,•

Time, 23secs. •100yds Boys’ Championship. —Carriek I, Thomas 2, Hosking 3. 220yds Boys’ Handicap—Hausman 1, Devine 2, Carriek 3. Ladies’ Relay, 440yds.—Wellington .1, Wairarapa A 2. The Wellington team was Misses M. Hayvice, E. Posselt, M. Wilkins and H. Bennett, and the Wairarapa A team Misses J. Johnstone, O. Barnett, F. Allen and K. Blake. This was a great race from start to finish. Wellington were lucky on the toss to secure the inside running. Miss M. Hayvice, who “w j gj& running very well all day. gave the 'ifljklington team a lead of two yards. The Masterton team were individually faster runners than their Wellington - opponents, but they ’were badly defeated on the'three exchanges of the bat•sjn. At this the Wellington team were very good, and could show the men .how to change the baton. The team ■ eventually won by 1 foot, in the good -time of 52sees.. which is exceptionally - smart for this race.
