DIRECTORS’ MEETING. The Board met on Tuesday, there being present: Mr Jas. Allan (in the chair), Revs. B. F. Rothwell, J, H, Datson and J. Cocker, and Messrs Vclvin and Mason (secretaries). The financial statement showed income £869 4s 9d, expenditure £1204 15s lOd; overdraft balance, £486 11s 7d. The general secretary reported:—The piogrammc for the winter season’s activity has been printed, and is the most ambitious yet attempted. A membership campaign for 100 members has been launched, and over 50 workers attended the inaugural tea. The new secretary, Mr P. M. \ elvin, has taken up his duties and is most confident of the prospects of the Mastcrton Association. The Winter Sports Club applied, for the use of the gymnasium on Saturday nights for ping-pong. and this was recommended. During the month four committee meetings had been held, five pulpits supplied, four gymnastic leaders’ classes, four study groups, eight lecture, club and games nights, while 16 meetings of various organisations had taken place in the rooms. The total attendance for the 11 months ta February 2Sth was 23,915. Extra seating and alterations to lighting were left in the hands of the general secretary. On behalf of the Board, the chairman extended a very hearty welcome to Mr Vclvin at the commencement of his work here, to which Mr Velvin suitably replied.
