THE KEMMIS MURDER

SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY. I SYDNEY, Wednesday. The police arrested two youths named Frederick Powell and Stanley Spithill on a charge of assault in company with intent to rob. The offence is alleged to have been committed in May last. Bail was refused, the police alleging, that both the accused were in some way connected with the murder of Mr. Kemmis (the bank manager). The hammer with which' Mr. Kemmis was killed has been identified as that stolen from a laundry at Hornsby several days ago. —Press Assn.
