ST. MATTHEWS SCHOOL.

SWIMMING SPORTS. At ilie Dixon street baths yesterday a most interesting programme of events was contested by pupils of St. Matthew’s School, in the presence of a good attendance of parents and friends. Mr E. W. B. llornabrook acted as starter, and the judges were Messrs 11. C. •Robinson and E. W. Payton. The prize for the consolation race was given by the judges. The entries were those girls who had entered for championship events, and had secured second or third places. A judges’ race caused much amusenuM't; it was won by Mr If. W. Payton and his partner, E. Hubbard. •piii.re were (pti'e a number of entries for the old girls’ race —a very popular event. The winner gave a good display of fast swimming, and led from the sin rt.
