MT. BRUCE SCHOOL.

ANNUAL PICNIC. On Friday last the Mt. Bruce school held its annual picnic on the school playgrounds. A big attendance of settlers' helped to make the day an enjoyable outing. Mr T. Wyeth, sen., presented three medals to be competed for. In 'the boys’ class Sam Te Tau won, and in the girls, L. Woodley. Mr T. Wyeth, juii., won the medal for ex-pupils, but returned it- to be competed for again. During the day an opportunity was taken to present Master lan McLauchlan with a pocket wallet for his achievement in passing his proficiency with high honours. # The sports were continued all day in fin© weather, and every scholar was presented with a book.
