• ANDREW—DYER. i) A wedding in which very consider- . ablo interest was manifested, was solemnised at St. Matthew’s Church this afternoon, when Miss Joyce Marjorie ■ Dyer, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Dyer, Renall street, Masterton, was married to Mr. John Andrew, oldest son of the late Mr. J. Andrew, . and Mrs. Bett, of Nelson. The church was decorated by girl friends in pink and white, a large floral wedding-bell being included. The .. ceremony was performed by the bride s . uncle, Archdeacon Innis-Jones, of Wellington. The Junior Boy Scouts formed a guard of honour at the church in recognition of the fact that Miss Dyei -was the instigator of that movement, .and was for many years their muchloved Scout Mistress. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a handsome wedding dress of white mousseline do soie, draped with beautiful lace and pearl trimmings. A square train was •impended from the shoulders, and she •ore, the customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations and maiden hair fern. She was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss Kathleen Dyer (sister), the Misses Isobel and Margaret Andrew (sisters of the bridegroom) and Miss BeryL Innis-Jones (cousin), who all wore charming frocks of lavender georgette, accordcon pleated at the sides, relieved by touches of silver, and large black hats with pink and black velvet trimmings. They carried bouquets of lavender and pink. Mr James Andrew acted as best man, and Messrs. Peter Andrew, Athol Innis- . Jones, and Eric Weekes were groonis;mon. Mrs. Dyer wore a handsome gown ot brown georgette draped in embroidered net, and a becoming brown hat trim- ’ med with wall flowers. Mrs. Bett was .attired in a rich mole charmeuse with embroidered net over dress, and hat on suite. Mrs. Morrison, Senr., wore black satin, with net overdress and black and whit.’ hat. Mrs. Innis-Jones, henna silk embroidered in blue, with a large, black [hat. white crepe de chine embroidered in black, and a black hat. Alias Dyer, mauve georgette and a # black hat with mauve and pink trimmings. Miss Of Morrison, navy blue crepe de chine with hat en suite. Miss K. Morrison, white embroidered georgette, with reseda green hat. Miss E. Vicars, rose pink charmeuse. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Morrison, Mr. and Mrs. W. Andrew, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moss and Miss Kita Moss, the Misses N. and E. Cooper, Mrs. D. M. Graham and the Misses Eree, Laing, Bunny, Dalziell, -Garrick, Waddington, Daniell, Warded, .Gr|ham, Henry, Gawith and numerous other girl friends. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Dyer entertained a large number of guests at their residence in Renall street when the customary toasts were proposed, and later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. John Andrew left for the south on their honeymoon trip. The bride’s travelling costume was a saxe Blue coat frock with grey facings, and she wore a grey and saxe blue hat. The
large array of handsome and useful wedding presents testified to the popu- \ larity of the young couple, who will return to Masterton and take up their future residence at “lea,” the old homestead of the Andrew family.
