COSY. Mo play .has given the public a more decided insight into the life of the great North-West than Janies Oliver Uurwood’s great story of the G.N.W. Mounted Police, “The River’s End.” Marshall Neilan’s superb touch as director has made of the it ale a living, breathing tribute to the famous trailers of men, whoso motto is “we always get our man.” The aura of romance that surrounds those hardy chaps is none the less emphasised by Lewis Stone’s splendid, virile presentation of the roles of Connistor and Keith. The cast is notable, for it included Marjorie Daw, Jane Novak and Barney Sherry. This big feature commences at the Cosy to-night. A big supporting programme includes the serial and other films. PARAMOUNT THEATRE. The mid-week change of programme last night included the big six-reel Universal feature, “Luring Lips,” in which Edith Roberts was starred. The story, which is fascinating to a degree, has many exciting episodes, and goes to show how a powerful society butterfly can detract from a man’s worthiness and lead him into unpremeditated acts. Edith Roberts, as a new star from this film, bids fair to become an instantaneous favourite. A ripping two-act comedy, “A Dollar’s Worth,” and several other films, are also being shown.
