ENTERTAINMENTS.

A FILM SENSATION. Commencing on Tuesday evening for a three-night’s season at the Opera House, “On With the Dance,” that 'has been described as a film sensation, will be shown for the first time. This sterling motion picture feels the pulse of New York and finds it not alone the hive of temptation that it is often called, but also the haven of vaulting amj bition, where the gold in human nature endures, and the dross, is burned away. ■ Mae Murray and David Powell interpret the principal roles. Miss Murray shows she has not lost one whit of her skill in the dance which first brought her into prominence in the “Pollies,” and exhibits also qualities as an emotional actress of surpassing ability. The story conce, vns the adventures of a pretty young Russian girl, suddenly left an orphan amid the luxury of New York’s smart set. Her encounters with men, good and bad, her temporary yeilding to the lure of a riotous gaiety, and her final redemption in the big cyisis provide a plot that holds the interest every moment. Miss Irene Fairclough, of Wellington, has been specially engaged to sing the latest song hit, “Lonesome, . That’s All.” Seats may be booked at Henderson’s. COSY THEATRE. The current programme at the Cosy Theatre includes a fine portrayal of Zane Grey’s grand novel “The Last of the Duanes.” The main papt is taken by William Farnum, who is afforded a special scope for his enactment. The story is thrilling to a degree, besides embodying a delightful romance which lends a fine finish to a really excellent feature. A ripping Sunshine comedy and a big supporting programme are also included. PARAMOUNT THEATRE. “Victory,” the big Ayteraft feature now being screened at the Paramount is a really excellent production, and features Seena Given and Jack Holt. The scenes of the play are laid in the South Sea Islands, and are very impressive, a view of an active volcano being particularly fine. A splendid two reeler Sennett comedy, “A Ladies’ Tailor,” creates roars of merriment. The sixth i episode, of “Tih Minh” is very exciting, and carries the story to an inter- I esting stage. j
