The Petit Journal reports that an industrial crisis exists .in Northern France. Almost aH'flie textile factories' in Lille, Roubaix and Tourcoing _are closed owing to few orders being received for woollen goods, and the large stocks on hand being unsold. FINANCING FOREIGN TRADE. AMERICAN SCHEME. WASHINGTON, Wednesday. Tho American Bankers’ Association Convention is considering the proposed organisation undeg its auspices of .an international trading corporation, "with a capital of £20,000,000. The plans' provide for financing foreign trades, in co-operation with, the merchants, manufacturers; exporters, arid producers. CONSTERNATION AMONG GRAIN GROWERS. . .. ■ ■(Received Friday, 5.55 a.m.) OTTAWA, Thursday. Consternation- prevails among Winnipeg- grain growers as the result of tho Government’s decision not to reestablish the Wheat Contral Board which operated during the war.. Grain is not being moved owing to the elevators in the interior being choked and to the fact that there are no buyers. Grain growers insist that the Government can take over the crops and finance them until buyers want stocks. DECLINE IN PRICE OF HIDES. (Received Friday, 8.50 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Hides are dull and irregular of sale. A decline of Id to 2d all round is recorded.
