The annual match between' the Canterbury and Otago Universities was played on Lancaster I J ark to-day, in bitterly cold weather, and resulted in a decisive win for the southerners by 30 points to nil. By defeating New- South Wales by 18 points to 10 before 60,000 spectators the Englishmen proved conclusively that Saturday's failure did not truly reflect their skill. Vsiting New South Wales' territory they threw the ball about cleverly. In the second half both teams gave exhibitions of fine passing rushes, play travelling over every inch of the field with lightning rapidity.
