REVOLT IN IRELAND.
GOVERNMENT WAKES UP. CRIME TO BE PUT DOWN. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Reuter’s Telegrams.) LONDQN, Wednesday. In the House of Commons, replying to Mr T. Donald (Unionist member for Belfast), Mr Lolvd George emphasised that the Government intended to take steps to bring to .justice all persons associated wit h crime in’lreland. The Government, to that end, is organising an Irish executive and strengthening the police, naval and military forces in Ireland. Probably it would be also necessary to strengthen the law for dealing' with crime. The Government intended to put down the present organised campaign of murder and assassination. NEW PATROL SYSTEM. LONDON, Wednesday. Dublin ' advices state that the new military patrol system is bearing fruit, as military intervention frustrated an attack on' the constabulary barracks at Brosna, County Kerry. Six armed men with a. motor car containing arms and ammunition, were captured. A PITIFUL WAIL, (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON. Wednesday. He Valera, has written to the Irish Vigilance Association stating that he will shortly leave America, and will visit England, “because it is due to the loyalty and cooperation- of my friend's in .'England that I should call personally and deliver a message. After that 1 will cross and feast my eyes afresh upon the long-tortured, outraged land to which alone we owe inherited . allegiance. ‘ ’
