NEW SUGAR CONTRACT.

ANNOUNCEMENT THIS MONTH. - The terms of the agreement made by the New Zealand Government with the Colonial Sugar Company for the purchase of the Fiji crop of usgar for the : next year should be announced shortly, probably before the end of this month, when the old agreement runs out. With the announcement of details of the contract. will probably be made the further announcement of the prices to be ■ charged for sugar in this country. It is a foregone conclusion that the price of sugar will rise considerably, but from the speeches of Ministers recent'jjy New Zealand should expect that the '‘..agreement concluded has been a highly favourable one to this country.
