MANAWATU RAGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. The Maltawutu autumn meeting opened to-day in fair weather. The going was very holding after the previous three, days’ rain. There was a fair attendance and the totalisator handled £41,699, as against £36,095 for the same day last vfiar.
