Coradine) reported that the solicitors (Messrs Buimv, .'Burridge, and Douglas) had ,informed him that the -documents m connection with' the purchase by the Technical School of Messrs King and Sons’ property, and lease of site at corner of Chureli and Dixon Streets, were now completed and signed, and that a payment of £4OO towards the purchase price had already- been’made. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr C. E. Daniell, that the balance (£425) of the purchase price be at once paid, the chairman to act regarding the adjustment of legal expenses and other charges in connection with the transaction. ;■ The chairman also reported -that part, of: the newly-acquired workshop had already boon fitted up as a wool-class-i.ng room, under the supervision of the instructor (Mr Bannister), and that the wool-sorting classes, which commenced on Mednesday and .l.huisday of last week, had now “an attendance of 36 pupils, including 31 discharged soldiers JTom the Wairarapa * Training Farin. Some-discussion took place with re "awl to the purchase of the necessary wool for use in the classes, and it was left in the hands of the chairman to act in conjunction with the director and instructor in obtaining information, and making the purchase when necessary. For this session a supply is being obtained on loan through the Department of Imperial Government Supplies. The director reported the class enrolnrents to be as follows: English, arithmetic, general knowledge, clocu lion,- French, etc., .178; book-keeping and accounting, 100; shorthand and typing, 143; .industrial subjects, 123; agricultural .(wool-classing) 35; art subjects, 45; domestic science, 1/1, total, 795. This shows an increase of 107 class entries since March 18, the date l of the last meeting. The aft class, held on Friday evenings, which had grown to be too large (23) had been divided, part of _ the class being taken on Tuesday evenings. The director reported that 19 students were now attending the adult dressmaking classes under Miss Galloiway, held on Thursday afternoons and 'Friday evenings.
