ADDINGTON MARKET. STRONG DEMAND FOR SHEEP (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCLIURCH, Wednesday. At the Addington market there was a heavy yarding ot store and fat sheep and an average one of lambs and cattle. , Stove .shoe]). —This was one oi the biggest yardings of the season, and comprised a larger proportion of travelled sheep, which were in poor condition, and prices showed a furthei decline on the lower prices ruling last week.

Fat lambs. —4300 were yarded, compared with 4400 the preceding week, and the market was firm at last week’s rales for the best sorts. '•The freezing buyers were operating more freely than at recent sales.; Extr.vjnime made to 35s 3d; prime, 27s to 335; medium, 24s Od to 26s 9d; and inferior and unfinished, 20s 6d to 24s 3d. Fat cattle. —125 were yarded, compared with 250 last week. There was some prime beef put forward, but the market showed a drop of quite £2 per head, the yarding Joeing in excess of butchers’ requirements, and tlie freezing buyers were, operating to so very little an extent that passings were more frequent. Fat sheep. —Notwithstanding the big penning the demand was keen, and the market was a shade better than last week. Freezing buyers showed more activity than usual. Extra prime wethers made 45s 6d to 55s 6d; prime, 37s to 44s 3d; medium, 31s 9d to 36s 3d; lighter ,25s 9d to 30s 6d; ertra prime ewes, 44s to 47s 6d; prime ewes, 35s 6d to 435; medium, 31s to 34s 9d; lighter, 23s to 29s 9d. • Dairy cattle—Springing heifers made £lO 10s to £2O 10s; second and third ealvers, £l2 to £l6; and third and fourth ealvers, £8 10s to £l6.
