The manager of the Masterton gasworks (Air Blackman) reported as follows to the Borough Council meeting last night:- —“In order to enable the municipal coal yards business to be transacted at the gas works, the coke platform and roof over same hate been extended to the main retort house building, which will, 1 -anticipate, provide sufficient accommodation to handle this year’s business, and will cut out the expense of carting the coal to the Bannister street yard. In view of the saving in cartage, I do jnot think that the recent rise of -s per ton need be imposed on the Council s customers. The report was adopted.
