%» DUDSON—WELCH. A wedding of much local interest was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, this morning by the Bight Bev. Monsignor McKenna, when Mr Steven John Hudson, fourth son of Mr and Mj> Hudson, of Carterton, was married tjo Miss Muriel Eileen Welch, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. C. Welch, ol| Lansdowne, Masterton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was prettily attired in a maize coloured frock with butterfly bow of pale lilac and black picture hat, and carried a beautiful bouquet of cactus dahlias and ‘maidenhair fern. L The bridesmaid, Miss Holly Hudson ' (sister of the bridegroom) wore a frock of powder blue, and white hat, and carried a bouquet of pale pink and white £ arum lilies. Mr Bouglas Welch, brottWN or" of the bride, was best man. After the ceremony the guests wear entertained at “ Caurrahmore,” downe, the residence of the bride 'ri parents, where the usual toasts were honoured. The number of presents, which included many cheques, testified to the popularity of the oung couple. Mr and Mrs S. j. Hudson left later inj the afternoon by motor for the South, . the bride travelling in a navy tailored.) costume with black hat and black fox furs. Mrs Welch, mother of the bride, wore a saxe blue costume and small biscuit coloured toque_ and black fox furs, and -Mrs Hudson, mother of _ the bridegroom, was in grey, with violet toque. Amongst the guests were Mr and Mrs T. Hodgius (Tane), Mr and Mrs Jamieson (Wellington), Miss Eita Hodgins /T (Lower flutt), Mr and Mrs Desmond Welch (Lya.ll Bay, Wellington), Mr and * Mrs McLachlan (Willow Park), Mr and Mrs Kemble Welch, Mrs and Miss Bray (Wellington), Mrs Brady (Paraparaumn), Mr and Mrs Walter Dudson (Johnsonville), and Mr and Mrs King (Carterton).
PARKINSON —MOORE, _ £ —. M 1 A quiet wedding was solemnised the Methodist Church this morning, .when Miss. Gladys Moore, second.daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Moore, of Masterton, was married to Mr Arthur Parkinson, second son of Mrs B. Parkingson, of Wellington. Miss Lexie Green acted as bridesmaid and Mr Arnold Parkinson as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Bev. Cocker, and Misa Jones, A.T.0.L., presided at the organ. Mr and Mrs Parkinson left later by > car for the north. PAGE —HAUSMANN. A quiet wedding took place in Masterton last Thursday, the contracting parties being Mr Sydney Page, youngest son of Mr and Mrs H. Page, Aurklaiul, and Miss Eva Hausmann, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Hausmann, of Masterton. .. DIXON —RAYNER. A quiet wedding took place at Church, MastertA, on Good when Miss Effie Bayner, second daughter of Mr and Mrs B. E. Bayner, of Lansdowne, was married to Mr Arehie Dixon, youngest son of Mr and. Mrs C. Dixon of Masterton. The officiating clergvman was the Bev. L. Thompson,. M £ Mr and- Mrs Dixon left later in. the day %>r Wellington, en route to the South, wffiero the, honeymoon will be spent. BEAUFORT—GRANT. At the Presbyterian Church, Carterton, on Wednesday, March 31st, Miss Margaret Sutherland Grant, eldest daughter of Mr A. S. Grant, of “ Farnham,” Carterton, was married to Mr Francis Edward Beaufort, son of Mrs Beaufort, of Pahiatua, and the late Mr J W. Beaufort. The bridesmaids were> the Misses Janet Grant (sister of the bride) and Margaret Stevenson (cousin), of Kaitawa. Mr jHector McGulikeu (Pahiatua) was best man, and tho groomsman was Mr Hector Adams, of Pahiatua.
STAGPOOLE —WOODLEY. At the Masterton Methodist Chur«J(| yesterday afternoon, Miss Lottie WoodIcy, second daughter of Mr Albert Woodley, of Masterton, w# married to Ah- Cecil Major Stagpoole, of Wellington The ceremony was performed by the* Rev. j. Cocker. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by Miss Stewart of l|ctahuna, her sister (Miss Myrtle Woodley) and a little flower girl, Miss Ruth. Burr (niece of the bride). The bridegroom was supported by Mr J. Daly of Wellington. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white crepe de chine, with tli'c usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white cactus dahlias. The bridesmaids were attired in pink crepe de chine, with large black panne hats, and' carried bouquets of pink dahlias. The little flower girl wore blue crcpc de chine and black panne hat. After tho ceremony a reception was held in the Municipal Hall, where a dainty wedding breakfast was partaken of.
