MASTEE-TON CATTLE FAlte,.
Tin , New Zealand Loan and Men-un-tile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their supplementary cattle fair, held at Masterton yesterday:—We had a fair yarding , of well-bred and some good-conditioned cattle, while others were poor and rough in coat. Competition was not keen, and at times the sale dragged. We, however, managed to dispose of the bulk of our entry under the hammer. Included in our entry was a pen of well-grown forward bullocks on account of Messrs Percy Bros, which topped the market at £17 7s (id. We quote:—iHerefordfShorthoru bullocks, very forward, £17 7s 0<l; --year steers 9, yearling steers £5 .12s 6d to £5 17s 6d, forward cows iS 10s to £9 2s 6d.-
The Wairarapa Farmers Stock Department report on their supplementary cattle fair, held in the Colombo Road yards yesterday:—We offered a good yarding of cattle to a fiiii , attendance of buyers, and were successful in disposing of the bulk of the entry at the following prices: Good fat cows £1.3 to £14 os, lighter cows £.10 15s to £.11 10s, store cows £7, £7 16s, £7 18s to £8, old cows £3 10s to £4, 3 and 4—year bullocks £13, :s-year steers £9 10s to £10 10s, "2-year steers, good coloured,
£8 to £8 12s 6d; 2-year steers, bad coloured, £6, £G 10s to £7 2s (3d; station yearling steers, £4, £4 10s to £;", dairy yearling steers £2 10s to £3 fis, 2-year empty heifers £5 17s 6d to £6 ss; cull yearlings 30s.
