The Afridis, who helped the Afghans in the recent -wax, sent a submissrre deputation to Peshawar to meet the British, officials. Sir Hamilton Grant 'expressed the Government's displeasure at their participation in the war, and demanded 550,000 rupees and all captured material. It is announced that the tribal allowances will be discontinued. The Afridis said they -would consider the terms and reply shortly.
