MARTINBOROUGH SPRING CATTLE FAIR
The Wairarapa Farmers' report on their cattle fair held in the Martinborough yards yesterday:—We offered over 700 head to a goo*cl attendance of buyers from all parts of the district. In the majority of cases the cattle were in very fair condition, and we were able to dispose of the bulk of the yarding. Prices were: —Heavy fat cows, x\ t f> £14 us; lighter do., £10 10s to £1.2 ss; forward cows, £S 10s, £9 to £9 ss: bacicward do., £6, £6 7s 6d to £7; old cows, £3 10s to £4 10s; 2-year Hereford steers, £S los, £9 to £9'ss; coloured- 2-year steers, £5, £5 15s to £6 JOs; yearling station steers, £5 to £6 "10s; coloured do., £2 10s to £3 10s; 2-year heifers, £6 to £7 10s; yearling do., £3 10s, £4 to £5; "ows and calves (low condition), £7 to £8: Shorthorn 2-year bulls, £12 to £14; dairy bulls, £6, £6 10s to £8.
