MEETING OF MASTERTON BRANCH.

A meeting ( ,f the Sports Protection League was held last night, Mr D. K. Logan presiding. There were also present: Messrs A. P. Harrison, C. F. Vallance, N. 11. .lames, E. .1. Southuate, P. W. Pointon, A. J. Hathaway, E. J. Hodgins, and C. !f at.es. The following were elected a Sports Committee: Messrs W. C. Perry (Golf Club), E. J. Hodgins (Trotting Club), 11. Douglas (shooting), F. W. Pointon (cricket), and H. P. Harrison (boxing). The questions submitted to Parliamentary candidates and their answers were received and discussed, and it was proposed and carried that they be submitted to the press for publication, also the objects for which the League was formed. It was proposed and carried that the following question be submitted to Parliamentary candidates: "Are you in- favour of the newly-formed Trotting Club in Masterton obtaining a totalizator permit, and will you support any legislation that may be necessary to enable the permit to be granted " The Masterton branch of the League will meet on the second Tuesday of each juontji.
