THE ELECTIONS.
The Prime Minister has announced that the writs for both t¥e European and Maori elections will he issued on Friday next, November 28th. Nominations for the European elections will close on December 6th, and the election will bq held on December 17th. ..Electors should take notice that they have only till Friday next to enrol. The rolls will close automatically on the day' that writs are issued. The coming elections, as we have previously pointed out, will be the most momentous from a national point of view that New Zealand has ever experienced. It is the duty of every citizen who is entitled to do so to record his vote. With the war burdens New Zealand will require to carry for some years, and with the vital questions which will engage the Dominion in the near future, it is essential that a sane, and not an extremist, Parliament be returned. The electors should see to it that extremists are prevented from securing control of this Dominion., present moment New Zealand can less afford to place its destiny in the hands of extremists than on any other occasion. It is the duty, therefore, of every elector to get his or her name on tho roll, and to assist in providing this country with a Government holding sound and moderate views.
