SOCIALISTS' SUCCESSES IN BELGIUM.
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (The Times.* (Received Friday, 11.40 a.m.) BRUSSELS, Wednesday. The elections passed in almost uncanny calm. The Catholic majority is disappearing, and the Socialists have enormously gained at the expense of the Catholics and Liberals. It is forecasted that the new Chamber will be composed as follows: — Catholics 79 Socialists 65 Liberals 38 The remaining four seats Avill be divided betAveen the Front Party and the Combatant Party.
