A question put to Mr Veitch at Wanganui: "How would you vote between Holland, Ward and Massey?" "I would not vote for Holland, whatever happened," was the reply, which Avas received with applause. "I have made up my mind on this point. If I can't have a free hand to ±'olloav my conscience I am not fit to represent you, and you had better get somebody else."
