DU.NEDIN, Thursday. Mr R. I. Scott, candidate for Wakatipu, spoke at St. Bathans on Wednes- ■ day. After defending the National Go- . .eminent, he asked why it had not after the war when the country Avas faced Avith a multiplicity of complex problems. Referring to the La"bour Party, he said that there was a possible danger of sufficient members being elected to hold the balance of power, to put Mr Massey out and then dictate their own terms. He considered there was no fundamental difference .bctAvcen -*he Liberal and Reform paretics. He''Was not in favour of a State "Bank untuT a stable Government was formed..- speaker said the sooner the party system Avas dropped the betJcr, but he saw no hope of doing it.
