Mrs McAnulty presided, and the candidate I mceived an excellent hearing. The cailKate's address was upon the , t lines delivered elsewhere, at ■It'-the conclusion of which he replied, apsatisfactorily, to numerous * questions. In moving a vote of thanks . Mr Mac Donald expressed the desire of ihe settlers that Mr Sykes should again ■visit that portion of the electorate. 3_r Sykes stated that he would, do so ■should time permit. Mrs McAnulty seconded the motion, which Avas carried ■-■unanimously. The meeting then took • .he form of a social evening. Mr A. McLeod, the official Labour candidate, addressed a meeting of _early thirty persons in the Fernridge -school last evening. The address was on similar lines to that given at Kurapuni, excepting that more time was devoted to matters pertaining to the farming community.
