MASTERTON BTOCE BALES. •
Messrs A. J. Cooper and Co., Ltd., report oh their Masterton sale as follows: —We.yarded a good entry of sheep well above advertised numbers, and a small entry of cattle, to a small attendance of buyers. Although a few pens were passed at auction, the bulk >of the yarding was sold at the following prices:—'Fat shorn ewes, 3Gs 6d; 4tooth shorn wethers, 32s 6d; shorn store ewes, 23s 9d; woolly 4-tooth wethers, 445; woolly hoggets, 25s 6d; ewes and lambs, 34s 3d; 3-year steers (coloured), £9 Is; 2-year do., £5; 1-year do., £1 10s.
The W.F.C.A., Ltd., Stock Department, report having held their weekly sale in the Colombo road yards yesterday, when they offered a fair entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle to a moderate attendance. Sheep were firm, but competition on the whole was very sluggish. Quotations are as under: —Sheep.—Fat ewes, 35s Id. Cattle. —Empty heifers, £7; dairy cows, £11 ]0s; bulls, £5; cows and calves (low condition), £4 11s; empty heifers, £3 10s; bad coloured 2-year steers, £4; bad coloured yearling steers, £1 13s 6d. Pigs'—Porkers, £2 10s; weaners, 30s, 35s to £2 3s. ' •
